Easy Ombre Nails! Easy floral Orange & Pink

Hi chicas!!! :)

So I know we've all noticed that ombre hair is "in" right now but did you know you can also have cute nails, OMBRE style?

YUP! that's right!
here's an easy step-by-step DIY to getting orange and pink ombre nails with an easy flower design just in time for Spring! :) These cute nails perfect for short nails or long nails.
I hope you enjoy!

Below are the nail polishes and tools I used to create these Ombre nails :)

(L to R)
  • Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top coat
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: Sun Kissed
  • NYC Pink Promenade Creme
  • Wet n Wild: Hallucinate
  • NYC French White Tip
  • makeup sponge
  • letter opener (we'll use the pointy part) or toothpick

With your makeup sponge, paint Sun Kissed (orange) on the edge of the sponge. Start dabbing the sponge at the base of your nail and work the sponge to tip of your nail. You want to make the orange dark at the base and lighten as you go up because this is where our next color is going to go and we are going for the gradient-cocktail look :)
If you have short nails, you can do the next step on just the very very tip of your nail and your ombre nails will still look great.

Now using the same makeup sponge, paint Pink Promenade Creme onto the other edge of the sponge. Here, we're going to start dabbing the pink at the tip of our nail and work our way to the middle, so we're starting to dab on the opposite side now. We want a nice pink at the tip and have it get lighter and lighter as we work our way to the center :) Now that your nail is done with the pink and orange, quickly get your clear top coat and put on 1 coat. We want to apply the clear top coat while our nail is still kind of wet because the clear will help "blend" the 2 colors at the center so that the transition doesn't look too harsh.

Repeat the same sponging steps on the rest of your nails. The sponging can get kinda messy, but no worries! Use a cotton swab and dip it into nail polish remover to clean up the sides of your nails :)
OR, you can hold off on this cleaning step and do it at the end.

Next put on 1 coat of a clear glittery polish to again "blend" the two colors. I used NYC's Hallucinate for my glittery polish.

Now for our flowers! With your toothpick or letter opener tip and white polish, draw 5 mini lines to meet at the center of your nail. If you have short nails, move the flower to the center of your nail.

Repeat this 5 mini-line step on the rest of your nails :)

To finish off our flowers, use your toothpick or letter opener tip, make a dot in the center of your flowers using Pink Promenade Creme :)
Last step: Apply a clear top coat to seal in your ombre nails and add a pretty shine!

 Finished ombre nails :)

 Finished ombre nails :)
umm...so idk if you noticed, but the corner of my thumb nail chipped off...the next time I go bowling, I'll have to have short nails....

I hope you enjoyed these ombre nails just in time for spring and give'em a try! You can also try different color combos, 2 different shade of pink? yellow & neon green? clear glitter polish & a solid color?...imagine the possibilities :)
Again, if you have short nails, no worries, you can still achieve cute nails! :)

**If you have any ideas for other cute nail designs or want to see more DIYs for short nails let me know! :)

Until next time chicas!
