How to create Rio Carnival Nail Art

It's Samba time!
Rio de Janeiro's Carnival runs Feb. 8th-13th!
Try out these cute Carnival headpiece feathered costume nails!

(L to R)
  • Sally Hansen Double Duty Top and Base Coat
  • NYC: Pier 17
  • KLEANCOLOR : Neon Green
  • Kiss Nail art white striper
  • Kiss Nail art black striper
  • Bissu Nail color in gold
  • Nail Art faded green pen
  • Nail Art sky blue pen
  • Nail Art yellow pen

Start off with a base coat to protect your natural nail. Then paint all of your nails with  2 coats of a green.

With a toothpick, use your gold polish and draw half moons over all of your nails except the ring finger.  The ring finger is where Brazil's flag will go.

While the gold half moons are drying, use a yellow nail art pen and draw a diamond.
While the yellow diamond is drying, use your black striper and  draw the headpiece's "feathers" on the rest of your nails.

Here you can use any colors you want for the "feathers" of our Carnival headpiece. Here I used the faded green and sky blue nail polish pens.

With your toothpick and gold polish, add a "dot" where all of the  feathers meet, at the middle of the half moon. While that's drying, use your deep toothpick and blue polish to add a big blue dot to the center of your yellow diamond. Once that's dried, use a white polish striper and add a tiny streak over the blue dot.
And you're finished! Add a clear top coat to seal in your design :)
